Background of the Study
Effective financial management is vital for the proper functioning of local governments. Jalingo Local Government Area (LGA) has faced difficulties in managing its finances, with manual systems often leading to errors, inefficiencies, and delays. The implementation of an Accounting Information System (AIS) can potentially streamline financial processes, improve financial transparency, and enable better resource management. This study will examine the implementation process, challenges, and benefits of AIS in Jalingo LGA's financial management.
Statement of the Problem
Jalingo LGA still relies on traditional manual accounting systems, which hamper the efficient and transparent management of its finances. Despite the recognized benefits of AIS, there are challenges related to infrastructure, personnel training, and resistance to change, which affect its effective implementation.
Aim and Objectives of the Study
Aim: To evaluate the implementation of Accounting Information Systems in the financial management processes of Jalingo Local Government Area.
